“I will continue to stand up for the Constitution and Second Amendment Rights of my constituents. This gun control bill contains unconstitutional red flag laws that take away due process rights and will have no effect on deterring criminals who do not follow the law when obtaining firearms. Instead, it creates arbitrary waiting periods for law-abiding adults and increases the role of the federal government into the lives of Americans. Additionally, this bill seeks to make gun owners second-class citizens and would increase the number of Americans would are barred from possessing firearms. The Constitution is on our side. Just this week, the Supreme Court ruled to protect Second Amendment rights against New York’s radical gun control provisions. In the face of any attempt to shred our Constitution, I will continue to stand up for Second Amendment rights and push for solutions to address the crime crisis in our country.”
