While I’m deeply disappointed that I will no longer be serving as the Congressional Representative for Saratoga County, and parts of Jefferson County, I look forward to continuing to earn support from voters to represent the hardworking families, small businesses, farmers, veterans, and seniors in Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schoharie, and Otsego Counties and to continue delivering real results to Upstate New York.
I am proud to continue to represent all of Fort Drum, and as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will always be the strongest voice for the North Country and Fort Drum’s service members and families as Fort Drum is the lifeblood of our entire North Country economy and culture. Overview: NY-21 is Trump Country, Elise Country, & More Republican Than Ever Before
The newly drawn New York 21st congressional district is a seat that President Trump won by a 12.5% margin in 2020 — a nearly 2% increase from the district in the current lines.In the 2020 election, NY-21 was an R+4 on the Cook PVI, now it is an R+9 and a “safe Republican” seat.The Republican Gubernatorial candidate won NY-21 in 2018 by 27 percent.
Less than 175 days from Election Day, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s record of real results, historic fundraising, and effective outreach to Upstate New York and North Country voters has put her in the strongest position ever to win re-election by the largest margin yet.
In every election cycle since she flipped the district from blue to red in 2014, Elise has won overwhelmingly by double digits, often earning the largest margin of victory for any Congressional Republican in the entire northeast. In 2020, despite facing an onslaught of millions of dollars of negative ads, Elise earned the most votes ever for any Congressional candidate in North Country history. Elise continues to shatter fundraising records and is the strongest Republican fundraiser not only in the North Country but in New York history.
The New NY-21: ‘GOP Super District’
Elise is a proven winner who is prepared to win another historic race in this newly drawnTrump 12.5% district.In the three counties drawn fully into NY-21, President Trump won Herkimer by 26% Schoharie by 30%, and Montgomery by 23.4%. In the towns of the counties that Elise now represents, Trump won Otsego by 16%, and Rensselaer by 3%.
The new media market breakdown is as follows:ALBANY: 46%, BURLINGTON: 22%, WATERTOWN: 22%, UTICA: 10%.Democrats will have to spend more money than ever before to try to raise their name ID, whereas public statewide polls have shown that Elise has a strong positive name ID across all of Upstate New York and is a household name for Republican voters.
