SCHROON LAKE | Strategies to close gaps in high-speed broadband connectivity were discussed at a meeting organized by Sen. Dan Stec at the Schroon Lake Town Hall Oct. 28.
Joining Stec were Assembly members Matt Simpson, Carrie Woerner and Billy Jones, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s regional representative, Michael Zembricki; John Wheatley and Jim Siplon of Warren County EDC; Kevin Lynch of SLIC Network Solutions and Dave Wolfe of ADK Action.
Increasing pressure on state officials to eliminate the ‘fiber fee’, streamlining the ‘make-ready’ process for new pole attachments and opposing the continued use of census blocks for awarding future grants were among the ideas discussed.
