Glaring evidence of this was her recorded statements regarding whether she supported an assault weapon ban or not. That clearly shows that she is deceptive with the citizens she wants to have vote for her.

We are all members of 21st Congressional District county legislative bodies. To us, an even more glaring deception is Tedra’s reaction to being called out on her legislative voting history.

As a county-level legislator, the vote you record, particularly regarding taxes, is a vote you own.

Sometimes it does take political courage to raise taxes on the people you represent. Whether the vote is mortgage tax, real estate tax, sales tax or any other tax, it comes out of your constituent’s pockets. That vote can be painful, but that is the vote you own, and a legislator must be prepared to answer criticism for it.

Tedra Cobb doesn’t see it that way. She downplays responsibility by simply saying Elise Stefanik doesn’t understand county government.

We beg to differ. Tedra Cobb deflects responsibility.

Elise Stefanik takes responsibility for her votes. She provides her positions in the most transparent manner possible through social media, telephone town halls, website and in person.

Many of the votes she makes are hard. But she owns every single vote. Like her positions or not, she is honest, up front and honorable. The buck stops with Elise.

We believe that Tedra’s camouflaging and shucking her record and political position is not the representation the 21st district needs in Washington – enough dishonest people already there.

Elise Stefanik represents us honestly, forthrightly, and earnestly. She’s not the deceptive politician her opponent shows herself to be.
